There is a disconnect between the most innovative and impactful projects around the world, and the people with capital to fund their growth. Physical distance is often an issue with investment dollars coming from more developed countries, and new impact business opportunities operating in emerging markets. In addition, many innovative impact ventures are still in their early days and not yet suited for investors looking for mature investments with solid track records. This is where service providers come in on The Ground_Up Project platform: to provide services in bridging the gap between impact and capital.
There are many different ways these connections can be made. Therefore many different types of service providers will be required to meet the needs of the nearly 1000 entrepreneur and investors featured on the platform. Entrepreneurs will benefit from incubators, accelerators, advisors and technical assistance providers who can move them towards greater investor readiness. Services for investors include consultants or firms providing market insights, as well as brokers and investment managers. There are also many organizations creating networks of people in fields such as technology, energy and agriculture that can foster connections needed for growth.
We recognize the important role these actors play in the impact ecosystem, and so we have created a dedicated portal for Service Providers. Over 100 service providers have signed up to the platform to date. These include universities, consultants, technology providers, governments and NGOs, all dedicated to growing the positive impact businesses, projects, and programs can make. Will you join us?
